How your level is set

Your CEFR level is estimated during the placement assessment (~8 minutes) and saved to your profile. The lesson catalog is then filtered to show lessons at and around your level.

You can browse lessons above your current level at any time for a challenge. Attempting lessons one level above your current one is a proven strategy for accelerating improvement.

Note: CEFR levels shown are AI estimates based on transcript analysis, not certified exam results. Re-take the assessment monthly to measure real progress.

Target answer length by level

The amount you speak in each turn is one of the strongest signals of fluency. Use this as a rough target:

LevelTarget words per turn
A1 / A210–20 words
B1 / B225–40 words
C1 / C240+ words

Longer, structured answers — with a reason and an example — score higher across all CEFR criteria.
