Quick Start
Set up your profile and start your first speaking session in minutes.
Follow these steps to get from sign-up to your first AI speaking session.
1. Set up your profile
On your first visit, open your profile settings and configure:
- Daily goal — choose how many minutes per day you want to practise.
- English variant — select US, UK, or Australian English so your tutor uses the right pronunciation and vocabulary.
- Tutor voice and tone — pick the voice and conversational style you find most comfortable.
2. Take the placement assessment (recommended)
Before browsing lessons, take the placement assessment. It is a short conversational interview:
- CEFR placement — approximately 8 minutes, places you at A1–C2.
- IELTS mock — approximately 14 minutes, estimates your Speaking band score.
Completing the assessment ensures the lesson catalog is filtered to your actual level, so you are not stuck on material that is too easy or too hard.
Tip: You can skip the assessment and browse freely, but you will get better results if you start at the right level. If unsure, start one level below where you think you are.
3. Pick a track
Use the track selector in the lesson catalog:
| Track | Best for |
|---|---|
| CEFR — General English | Everyday conversation, work, and social situations |
| IELTS | Exam preparation, band score improvement |
Progress in each track is tracked separately. You can switch tracks at any time.
4. Choose a lesson
Browse the catalog and select a lesson that matches your level and goal. Each lesson card shows:
- CEFR level or IELTS part
- Estimated duration
- Learning objectives and key vocabulary
- Tags (Small Talk, Business, Travel, Health)
Free lessons are clearly marked. Paid lessons unlock the full catalog.
5. Allow microphone access
When your browser asks for microphone permission, click Allow.
If you accidentally deny it, click the padlock icon in your browser's address bar to reset the permission. On mobile, go to Settings → Privacy → Microphone.
6. Press Connect and start speaking
Press the Connect button in the lesson toolbar. The status indicator moves from Disconnected → Connecting → Connected. The AI tutor speaks first — answer when it finishes, and the session begins.
7. Review your feedback
When the session ends, the Progress screen loads automatically. Review your statistics, read the AI summary, and note your top improvement areas. Use the Download Report button to save a PDF.
