Managing Your Subscription

How to view your plan, change it, and manage payments.

Billing Page

Go to Settings → Billing (or click Billing in the sidebar) to see your current plan, next billing date, and payment method.

Changing Plans

You can upgrade from Starter to Pro at any time — the change takes effect immediately.

Downgrading or cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Switch between monthly and yearly billing from the Billing page.

What Happens to My Minutes If I Downgrade?

Your speaking minutes come from two separate pools, and they behave differently when you downgrade:

Monthly subscription minutes — these are tied to your active plan. When you downgrade, you keep your current plan's full allowance until the end of the billing period. At the next renewal, your balance resets to the lower plan's monthly allowance. Any unused subscription minutes from the current period are not carried over.

Purchased minute packs — these are yours permanently and never expire. They remain in your account regardless of any plan changes, downgrades, or cancellations.

In short: downgrading affects only your next month's subscription allowance. Any minutes you have already paid for separately are safe.

Cancelling Your Subscription

To cancel, go to Settings → Billing and select Cancel Plan. You will see a confirmation prompt before any action is taken — your subscription is not cancelled until you confirm.

After confirming, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will retain full access to lessons, practice, and all features until that date. No further charges will be made after cancellation.

Your account stays open after the period ends — you can resubscribe at any time, and your progress, history, and purchased minute packs are preserved.

Refunds

SpeakNow subscriptions are billed in advance for the full billing period. We do not offer partial refunds for unused time within a billing period.

If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at contact@speakn0w.com within 14 days of the charge and we will review your case.

Payment Methods

SpeakNow uses Stripe for secure payment processing. You can pay by credit or debit card. Your payment details are stored securely by Stripe — SpeakNow never sees your full card number.
